DIY: Creative Christmas card on silk screen

I have been waiting for some time to publish this post and I feel that today is the day! Helsinkians should feel the Christmas spirit already since today it snowed for the first time and the holiday lights on Aleksanterinkatu have been switched on! This is a sure sign that the festive season is under way!

This is definitely my favourite time of the year! Eating clementines and leaving the zest on top of the heating so that the scent spreads in the year, the smell of the freshly baked cookies… are just some of the things that make me feel excited about the upcoming holidays! Making angels and cards are other things that I love doing! That`s why I want to share with you this tutorial.

These beauties are truly unique and should put a smile on anyone`s face! Try making them and let me know how they turned out!

You are going to need:

✓Silk wire frame panel or just some silk material stretched on canvas
✓ Pencil, paper, Silver Gutta for silk, silk paints
       ✓ Cardboard, scissors, glue

First sketch your idea on a paper. It is important to have a clear image of the thing you are going to paint on the silk panel.

After you have cleared your idea you can transfer it on the silk panel using the Silver Gutta. Leave the gutta lines to dry.

Once the Gutta has dried you can colour inside the lines. Free your imagination- mix different colors!

After your painting has dried, you can glue it on a cardboard.

This is your unique piece of art, you can frame it and decorate it as you wish!

Here are the other cards that I made:
